The Learning Enhancement and Academic Development (LEAD) provides an array of services and resources to help medical students master the curriculum.
LEAD provides:
- One-on-one academic counseling on academic skills and strategies
- Academic coaching programs (peer tutoring) at all levels (years 1-4)
- Services for first year students:
- First year checks – short consultation meetings
- Workshops on e.g., how to be a successful medical student, accessing available academic support resources, effective study strategies, and note-taking
- Peer-led review sessions: Keck Peer Instruction Program (KPIP)
- Services for second year students:
- Step 1 LEAD workshops/panels: discussing study and preparation strategies
- Step 1 checks – short one-on-one consultation meetings
- Peer-led review sessions
- Services for third and fourth year students:
- Clerkship subject exam peer review sessions
- Step 2 checks – short one-on-one consultation meetings
- Step 2 CK coaching
