Post-Clerkship Phase:

  • 42 weeks of Electives (May be taken in clerkship or post-clerkship phase)

Of the 42 weeks of Electives:

      • 1 Emergency Medicine (3 or 4 weeks) or Critical Care Elective.
      • 12 weeks must be from the Core Clinical Elective list.
      • 30 weeks must be clinical electives. Most rotations offered fulfill this requirement. Examples of rotations that are not clinical courses include, but are not limited to, Clinical Informatics, Health Policy and Economics, Narrative Medicine, and Research. If you have questions about whether a course will count toward this requirement, please contact the Office of Student Affairs.
      • Maximum of 12 weeks of away rotations or similar rotations within KSOM course catalog can be taken for graduation credit.

Students must complete the requirements for the Scholarly Project.

Students must pass USMLE Step 1 and Step 2CK and the Clinical Performance Examination.
